Grand Champion B: Chagoi Hirasawa
Awarded as Grand Champion B is Chagoi Hirasawa (93 cm). Cha-goi in Japanese means a non-metallic light brown or tea colored koi. This win marked the second time Chagoi Hirawasa won as Grand Champion B in the history of Philippine National Koi Show.
Owned and hand-raised since it was purchased at two years old measuring at 40 cm, Chagoi Hirasawa is proudly nurtured by Eric Ongkaoko. Meanwhile, a four-year old 91 cm wins grand champion in the Kohaku category owned by David Lim.
Nurturing Kois To Championship-level Form
Chagoi Hirasawa, along with the rest of the participating kois in the event, required special care from its hobbyist to thrive. Apart from kois being carefully hand-raised to its top form, it needs to be in a pond that has a good filtration system to keep the water clean and healthy. Water has to be changed regularly and monitored for its quality.
Ultimately, kois should have a healthy, balanced diet to achieve their championship form. Winning koi Chagoi Hirasawa is proud to have been regularly fed with YURI Koi Fish Feeds, a specialized koi feed that has all the nutritional ingredients needed to promote superior growth, excellent health, and enhanced immunity for kois.
Manufactured using highly digestible cereals and protein, YUKI Koi Fish Feeds supports faster growth in koi and features a balanced nutritional formula that allows Koi to achieve maximum metabolic efficiency and superior nourishment. It is also infused with
Spirulina, a type of blue-green algae that primarily grows in mineral-rich waters. This algae is known to be rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, and antioxidants, giving kois their daily needed nourishment to remain in top shape. The feed also uses other sources of pigments that aid in enhanced color vibrancy of the koi.
`
Every hobbyist understands that each koi needs a feed that has a good balance of fish meal, fish oil, and grains for energy, longevity, growth, metabolism, and overall good health. Adding to the reason why YUKI Koi Fish Feed makes the perfect feed for kois is that it is fortified with carbo-technology to ensure proper digestion and nutrient absorption, and wheat germ added with high levels of stable Vitamin C for a healthy immune system. To maintain its quality and freshness, YURI Koi Fish Feeds is recommended to be stored in a cool dry place.
It is also important to feed kois the right amount at the right time. Aside from regularly monitoring your water temperature, it is crucial to be knowledgeable on how to adjust the amount of frequency of your feeding based on the temperature, water condition, number and size of fish, and their activity level.
Feed your koi with YURI Koi Fish Feeds once or twice a day, and no more than what they can consume within five minutes. To avoid overfeeding and to keep the water clean, always remove any untouched food remaining after the feeding period.
YURI Koi Fish Feeds is locally manufactured by Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation (PFMC), a world-class manufacturer of quality animal feeds, including Excel Feeds, Amigo and Lechon for Swine, Poultry and Aquaculture, IC+ and Iron Claw Game Fowl Feeds, and Canis Prime Dog Food. PFMC is proud to operate under its mother company La Filipina Uy Gongco Corp., the largest importer in Southeast Asia of US soybean meal, the main ingredient in livestock feeds.
Available in 10kg packs, YURI Koi Fish Feeds is available on online shopping platforms such as Excel Mall (https://excelfeeds-mall.com/products/yuri-koi-fish-feeds-floating-pellets), Shopee, Lazada, and from your local feed stores nationwide.
